This Week's Tasting: April 10, 2018

Every week at Dairymaids we select six cheeses to include in our free cheese tasting. Whenever we are open, we are tasting cheese. We stock over 150!

Menonina is a semi-soft cow's milk cheese flavored with bits of fresh jalapeño. From the Mozzarella Company in Dallas, the cheese is modeled after cheeses made in Northern Mexico.

Here's what you'll find in the bag:

Kunik, a soft-ripened cow and goat's milk cheese from the Nettle Meadow Dairy in New York.

Estero Gold Reserve, an aged, raw cow's milk cheese based on an Italian Montasio recipe from Valley Ford Cheese in California.

Wagon Wheel, a washed-rind cow's milk semi-firm modeled after an Italian Fontina from the Cowgirl Creamery in California.

Ubriacone, a cow's milk semi-firm pierced and rubbed with red wine from Segio Moro in Italy.

Echo Mountain, a blended goat and cow's milk blue from the Rogue Creamery in California.

Our wine of the week is Les Copains Rosé from McPherson Cellars in Lubbock, Texas. We taste wine from 10am to 2pm on Saturdays.

Our pairing of the week is a Bartlett Pear Preserve from American Spoon in Michigan.
