This Week's Tasting: June 5, 2018

 Prodigal Farm

Every week at Dairymaids we select six cheeses to include in our free cheese tasting.
Whenever we are open, we are tasting cheese.
We stock over 150!

We're excited to welcome back Prodigal Farm cheeses! Prodigal Farm is a farmstead goat dairy in North Carolina. Cheesemaker Kat Spann takes great care of her goats and her delicate, soft-ripened cheeses. Come by this week to try Hunkadora, a goat disc coated with ash.

Also on our tasting plate this week:

Latteria: Montasio-style raw cow's milk table cheese made by at Lira Rossa in Moulton, TX.

Marieke Gouda with Jalapeno: great for melting or snacking. Raw milk gouda from Holland's Family Cheese in Wisconsin flavored with Jalapeno.

St. Pat: buttery seasonal brie coated with wild nettles from the Cowgirl Creamery in CA.

Ombra: nutty sheep's milk cheese from Spain with a crunchy texture.

Little Boy Blue: Wisconsin's answer to Roquefort. 100% sheep's milk blue from Hook's Cheese in WI.

Our wine of the week is La Coeur de la Reine a Sauvignon Blanc from the Loire Valley. We taste wine from 10am to 2pm on Saturdays.

Our pairing of the week is American Spoon's Bartlett Pear Jam from Michigan.
