This Week's Tasting: April 23, 2019

Every week at Dairymaids we select six cheeses to include in our free cheese tasting.
Whenever we are open, we are tasting cheese.
We stock over 150!

Our featured cheese this week is Gorwydd Caerphilly. This mild, slightly earthy raw-milk cheese is made by the Trethowan family in the Somerset region of the United Kingdom. It presents fresh, richly lactic flavors at the center and becomes more savory and mushroomy closer to the rind. Stop by this week to give it a try!

Other cheeses on our tasting plate this week:

Green Hill, a buttery Camembert-style from Sweet Grass Dairy in Georgia.

Baby Caprino, an ash-coated, soft-ripened goat cheese from CKC Farms in Blanco, Texas.

Paski Sir, a firm, slightly fruity sheep's milk cheese from Pag Island, Croatia.

Challerhocker, a creamy-yet-firm, complex Alpine style from Switzerland.

Oregonzola, a traditional Italian-style blue from Rogue Creamery in Oregon.

Our wine of the week is the Lenz Moser Grüner Veltliner from Austria. We taste wine from 10am to 2pm on Saturdays.

Bayley Hazen Blue on sale $16.25/lb.
