This Week's Tasting: August 23, 2019

Every week at Dairymaids we select six cheeses to include in our free cheese tasting.
Whenever we are open, we are tasting cheese.
We stock over 150!

Rolled in dried herbs from the Tomales Bay coastal region, Pierce Point is the summer seasonal Brie of the Cowgirl Creamery. A double-cream, this Brie has a light herbaceous and buttery flavor with a vibrant rind. This year's blend of herbs features primarily Thai Basil.

Other cheeses on our tasting plate this week:

Miette, a soft-ripened cheese made from a blend of goat's and sheep's milk from the Baetje Farms in Missouri.

Texas Gold Cheddar, a raw cow's milk cheddar from the Veldhuizen Family Farm in Dublin, Texas.

Thomasville Tomme, a raw cow's milk Tomme-style from the Sweet Grass Dairy in Georgia.

1655 Gruyere, a traditional, raw cow's milk Gruyere made by Le Cret in Switzerland.

Echo Mountain, a blended cow and goat's milk blue from the Rogue Creamery in Oregon.

Our wine of the week is Aupa Pipeño from Vina Maitia in Chile. We taste wine from 10am to 1pm on Saturdays.

We will also be sampling Chili Jam from American Spoon in Michigan.
