This Week's Tasting: August 3, 2019

Every week at Dairymaids we select six cheeses to include in our free cheese tasting.
Whenever we are open, we are tasting cheese.
We stock over 150!

This week we are featuring a Texas favorite, St. David's Raclette from Eagle Mountain Dairy in Lipan. Dave Eagle sources his milk from a Swiss Brown cow dairy in nearby Bridgeport. Their rich raw milk gives his raclette a smooth texture - great for melting!

Other cheeses on our tasting plate this week:

Bloomsdale, a ripened goat's milk pyramid with ash from Baetje Farms in Missouri.

Mt. Tam, the flagship triple cream brie from the Cowgirl Creamery in California.

Red Butte Hatch, the savory & spicy cheddar from Utah's Beehive Cheese.

Bandaged Bismark, a clothbound sheep's milk cheddar made at Grafton Village in Vermont and aged in the Crown Finish Caves in NY.

Terre de Volcans Bleu d' Auvergne, a traditional cave-aged French blue. Creamy and complex.

Our wine of the week is Portillo Cabernet Sauvignon from Mendoza, Argentina. We taste wine from 10am to 1pm on Saturdays.

We will also be sampling Rhubarb Marmalade from American Spoon in Michigan.
