This Week's Tasting: December 7, 2019

Every week at Dairymaids we select six cheeses to include in our free cheese tasting.
Whenever we are open, we are tasting cheese.
We stock over 150!

Black Betty is an aged goat's milk gouda produced by L'Amuse in the Netherlands and selected and aged by cheese affineur Betty Koster. The cheese is aged around 12 months and has a firm paste with intense flavors of brown butter and pineapple and huge crystallization.

Other cheeses on our tasting plate this week:

Baby Caprino, an ash-ripened goat's milk cheese from CKC Farms in Blanco, Texas.

Landaff, a caerphilly-style made with raw cow's milk from the Landaff Creamery in New Hampshire.

Schnebelhorn, an alpine-style made with raw cow's milk from Kaserei Butschwil in Switzerland.

Ombra, a natural-rinded aged sheep's milk cheese from Spain.

Rogue River Blue, a blue cheese wrapped in grape leaves soaked in a pear brandy from the Rogue Creamery in Oregon - winner of the 2019 World Cheese Awards!

This week we're sampling a hard Rosé cider from Domaine du Verger in France. We taste wine from 10am to 1pm on Saturdays.

We're also sampling Mayhaw Jelly from Garden Dream in Houston.
