This Week's Tasting: July 26, 2019

Every week at Dairymaids we select six cheeses to include in our free cheese tasting.
Whenever we are open, we are tasting cheese.
We stock over 150!

This week's featured cheese is Gabietou, a declicious washed-rind cheese from the french affineur Hervé Mons. Made from a blend of sheep and cow's milk, Gabietou has a creamy and dense texture. Sweet and nutty in flavor, this cheese pairs well with pale or amber ale.

Other cheeses on our tasting plate this week:

Silver Lingings, a fresh goat's milk cheese dusted with ash from the Pure Luck Dairy in Dripping Springs, Texas.

Green Hill, a Camembert-style Brie from the Sweet Grass Dairy in Georgia.

Wagon Wheel, a Fontina-style cheese made with cow's milk from the Cowgirl Creamery in California.

Triple Barrel Cheddar, an extra aged version of the Veldhuizen Family Farm's Texas Gold Cheddar, made with raw cow's milk in Dublin, Texas.

Echo Mountain, a cheese made from a mix of cow's and goat's milk from the Rouge Creamery in Oregon.

Our wine of the week is Due Torri from Cesari in Venezie, Italy. We taste wine from 10am to 2pm on Saturdays.

We will also be sampling Mythical Mayhaw Jelly made by Garden Dreams in Houston.
