This Week's Tasting: May 17, 2019

 

Every week at Dairymaids we select six cheeses to include in our free cheese tasting.
Whenever we are open, we are tasting cheese. 
We stock over 150! 

This week's featured cheese is Blu di Pecora by the Perla cheesemakers. This Tuscan blue is made from 100% Piedmontese Alps sheep's milk. With a natural rind, it is smooth in texture and flavor with the distinctive notes of sheep's milk.

Other cheeses on our tasting plate this week: 

Kunik, a soft-ripened cow's and goat's milk cheese made by the Nettle Meadow Dairy in New York.

Cascina Capra,a washed-rind, goat's milk cheese from Italy by the Gildo formaggi cheesemarkers.

Tomme de Hood, a raw cow's milk, natural-rinded cheese from the Eagle Mountain dairy in Lipan, Texas. 

Bleu Mont Cheddar, a cow's milk clothbound cheedar made in Wisconsin at Bleu Mont Dairy. 

Schnebelhorn, an Alpine-style raw cow's milk cheese from Switzerland made by the Kaserei Butschwil cheesemakers .

Our wine of the week is Tenuta Guado al Tasso's Scalabrone from Bolgheri, ItalyWe taste wine from 10am to 2pm on Saturdays.

We will also be sampling with Houston-made Garden Dreams Mythical Mayhaw Jelly.
