This Week's Tasting: January 2, 2019

Every week at Dairymaids we select six cheeses to include in our free cheese tasting.
Whenever we are open, we are tasting cheese.
We stock over 150!

Isle of Mull Cheddar is produced by the Reade Family on the Isle of Mull, an small island to the north of Scotland. It’s made with raw, cow’s milk and is hearty and full-flavored with a dry texture. It contains savory, almost boozy notes of peat and citrus with a fruity finish.

 On the plate this week:

Mt. Tam, a triple-cream brie from the Cowgirl Creamery in California.

Texas Gold Cheddar, a raw cow's milk cheddar from Velhuizen Family Farm in Dublin, Texas.

Majorero, a semi-firm goat's milk cheese from Fuerteventura in the Canary Islands.

Tarentaise, a raw cow's milk cheese made in the Alpine-style from the Spring Brook Farms in Vermont.

Stichelton, a raw cow's milk blue made to reflect the tradition of Stilton making from the United Kingdom.

Our wine of the week is Mirth, an unoaked Chardonnay from Corvidae in Washington. We taste wine from 10am to 2pm on Saturdays.

We're also sampling Chili Jam from American Spoon in Michigan.
